Coupling uncertainty models to simulation methods is a general method for describing uncertainty in spatial metadata
Users can use a metadata uncertainty button to generate a set of simulated realizations of the data with uncertainty “added in”.
A GIS application is performed upon these realizations, producing
a distribution of results. By studying these results, the scientist or decision maker can assess the impact of spatial data uncertainty upon the application
This demonstration used a very simple uncertainty model, but the method itself is generally applicable to any type of spatial data and any uncertainty model
