Original Models

Each of the three maps shown here is the result of running a simple GIS model on the original DEM and original landcover data sets. These maps may be usefully compared with the probability maps generated through propagating data uncertainty through the GIS model.

Sea Level Rise

Areas at risk of inundation are concentrated in the southwest and comprise a small portion of the quadrangle.

Landslide Risk

Two small urban areas are at risk; along the north face of a feature in the southeast known locally as "the Mesa", and a few cells in the north central portion of the quadrangle.

Banana Suitablity

Areas deemed suitable by the model for raising bananas are scattered throughout the northern portion of the quadrangle, generally occurring in the north-south running canyons.
