I snagged this data from a post on a basketball (of all things) web forum about 3 years ago. It was attributed to the CNN site. Here's the very small bit of "metadata" I know about this file.

The first column is the state abbreviation (including DC). The second column is the average SAT score for that state. The third column is the percentage of high school juniors who actually took the test.

I don't know whether this is for a particular (unknown) year or is averaged over several years. I don't really know how the third column was derived.

The data are interesting for two reasons:
- You can see which states had high scores and which had low scores
- You can test for a relationship between test score average and the percentage of high schoolers who took it.
