The NELSIS Design System User Interface applied to a hydrologic modeling process.

The design flow shown in the image was developed using the NELSIS FLow User Interface Designer (FLUID). The design flow for the hydrologic application is divided into 3 parts:

1. Input of the model parameters and data, including selection of catchment and rainstorm events to be simulated. The inputs can be edited and versioned as they are selected.
2. Model execution (this can only be done when all inputs are available; data availability is indicated by red/green coloring).
3. Viewing of intermediate simulation results (view_monitor) and analysis of the results
(using visualization systems such as AVS and Iris Explorer).
