Flying into Los Angeles International (LAX) airport:
LAX is about a 2-hour drive south of Santa Barbara and is served by most major airlines and rental car companies.

if you plan to drive up to Santa Barbara after landing at LAX.
As an alternative to renting a car, the Santa Barbara Airbus
can take you from LAX to either downtown Santa Barbara or Goleta. They offer discounted rates for

Flying into Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena (BUR) airport:
On the northern edge of the greater Los Angeles area, BUR is about 2 hours from Santa Barbara and
is served by many major airlines and rental car companies. Airfares are usually comparable to LAX fares. An Amtrak connection is available in Burbank. If you take Amtrak From Los Angeles or Burbank, get off at the Goleta station and take a taxi to UCSB.

Should you prefer lodging, we encourage you to secure it as soon as possible. It can be difficult to find affordable hotel rooms in Santa Barbara during the summer.

Santa Barbara. Off campus housing will require the use of public transportation to and from campus or,
if travelling by car, the additional cost of parking fees ($8/day).
Santa Barbara weather: Usually temperate during the day (high
60s to high 70s), but rather chilly in the evenings. Be sure to bring a
